New Identity Verification Requirements: As of April 14, 2025, beneficiaries will no  longer be able to make account changes or complete new applications over the phone. They  must use their my Social Security account or visit a local field office for verification.  Thes changes reflect ongoing efforts to improve the Social Security system and address long-standing issues affecting beneficiaries. It is essential for current and future recipients to stay  informed about these developments to understand how they may impact their benefits.
